Tired of reading rules. Curious to try the latest game. Well sit back and have a favorite came taught to you by a CastleCon team member. Each year we provide demos of some of the latest and greatest games available, through the support of our many amazing supporters. For each game demo, a CastleCon representative will sit at the table and teach you the game. In many cases, that same representative will play the game with you for a few reasons; to be available to answer questions during the game, to enjoy the con by playing games, and to get to know each of our attendees on a personal level.
A Song of Ice and Fire
CastleCon has picked up a copy of A Song of Ice and Fire, the miniatures board game based on the Game of Throne Books.
A Song of Ice & Fire: Tabletop Miniatures Game lets players take control of their favorite Houses from the novels — represented by trays of high-quality, pre-assembled miniatures — and lead them into battle against their opponents. Players can recreate their favorite moments from the series or create their own stories. What if the Red Wedding never happened, and Robb Stark assaulted King’s Landing? Now fans can find out!
Battles can range from large-scale wars with hundreds of miniatures to simple skirmishes between a few units without complicating the elegantly designed rules. The game features several unique systems, including alternating activations that keep the players engaged; a Rank System that changes a unit’s capabilities as the battle rages on; a Tactics System that provides strategic powers fueled by a finite resource each round; and, most importantly, the iconic Heroes, such as Robb Stark and Jaime Lannister, that can change the course of war both on and off the battlefield.
The Stark vs Lannister Starter Set has everything needed for two players to fight epic battles. Containing forces for both House Stark and House Lannister, players build their armies, select leaders, construct their tactics deck, and engage in one of five different game modes.
So don your armour and join us for a demo at CastleCon.

Dungeons and Dragons 5e
Another long day of travel draws to a close with the setting of the sun. The wagons have circled for the evening in a grassy clearing – just off the side of the trail.
Camp has been set up, the horses unhitched, and the wagons opened up to air out in the cool evening air. In the middle of the camp a cook fire has been lit – drawing together the hungry travelers. A hearty stew bubbles away, filling the air with its mouth-watering aroma. The caravan master clangs his ladle on the side of the pot, puts a hand to his mouth to call dinner, and is cut off. The chilling howl of a wolf pack- long, low, and nearby- cuts through the air. What do you do?
Welcome to a Dungeons and Dragons 5e demo scenario for 1-4 characters of 1st level. This is an ideal scenario for people keen to learn what the game is all about, of for seasons players looking to whet their appetite for some role playing.
